There are all sorts of property websites around right now and many of them don't seem to be terribly useful, so it's a vote of confidence for one that does offer plenty of information:

Mouseprice makes use of Land Registry sale information to provide information on property sale prices. You can use it to find out what other properties are selling for and to get a vague valuation of your own property.

Those valuations certainly shouldn't be taken "as gospel", but the site does a good job of presenting the data. If you're thinking of putting in an offer on a property, then use it as a guide - find out if the asking price for a particular property is realistic.

Nationwide are reporting that the average house price is now £179,110 - a 1.1% fall in the last month.

Annual house price inflation now stands at 1.1%.
